Broadway Musical

August 9, 2006: Superman Musical at the Historic Hoover Theatre

The 1966 Broadway Musical "It's a bird, it's a plane, it's Superman!" back on stage.

The Man of Steel comes to life for the Broadway stage in a story filled with over the top dialogue, funny action, mayhem, and of course, comic book antics. It opens with Clark Kent changing into his Superman suit in the infamous phone booth, when a bank robbery happens. Of course, he saves the day and gets the girl, Lois Lane, but Superman is not happy. A reporter is out to uncover his identity, while another girl is trying to steal him away from Lois, and meanwhile, an evil mad scientist is trying to take over the world. What is Superman to do? With a little help from the Citizens of Metropolis, save the WORLD... of course!

From the composer of Bye, Bye, Birdie and Annie, this fun filled musical score with a 1960's feel really sets the stage for comic hilarity! This production will feature a lot of color, comic book exaggerated sets/costumes, and fun filled dance sequences inspired much like those out of an Austin Powers movie. You won't want to miss being a part of this Broadway classic! Tickets available through www.ticketmaster.com.

SAC is presented by Actors Theatre Center and is held at the Historic Hoover Theatre complex in the beautiful Rose Garden district of San Jose. The Hoover Theatre complex features three classrooms, green room/kitchen, professional dance studio and the centerpiece is the newly remodeled, state of the art Historic Hoover Theatre, which is a 200-seat proscenium performance space.
