April 9, 2006: Showtunes Theatre Puts On Superman Musical

Showtunes! Theatre Company has announced that it will be opening its 2nd full season of musicals in concert will kick off with the 1966 Superman Broadway musical.

    Showtunes! will open their season with It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman! (October 7th-8th 2006). The Man of Steel is also a song and dance man in this high flying 1966 comic book come to life. Superman and Lois Lane thwart a crazed mad scientist and a lecherous newspaper columnist, to the tantalizing tunes of Charles Strouse & Lee Adams (Bye, Bye Birdie, Applause) and a script by the men who later wrote the smash hit 1978 film version of Superman.
