November 3, 2015: "Supergirl" Ratings Drop by Nearly 30%

Supergirl After soaring into the #1 spot with its pilot episode last week, "Supergirl" took a bit of a hit in the ratings for its second episode, with close to a 30% drop in viewers.

EW.com reports that without a "Big Bang Theory" episode lead-in, "Supergirl" was watched by 8.9 million viewers and had a 2.2 rating among adults 1849. A drop of 29% in the adult demographic.

Supergirl was also beaten in the hour by NBC's The Voice (3.2), yet easily dominated Fox's own superhero show Gotham (1.6), along with ABC's Dancing With the Stars (1.9). CBS points out Supergirl managed to tie NBC's 10 p.m. freshman drama Blindspot (2.2) at the night's biggest scripted show (only without Blindspot's big Voice lead in). CBS projects Supergirl will grow by about 65 percent with DVR over the coming week.

While the drop in ratings was expected, it will be interesting to see how much DVR viewings help the final score once the Live+3 ratings are released later this week.
