Zack Snyder has shared a previously unseen scene from his cut of the “Justice League” movie in which Henry Cavill’s Superman, wearing the black recovery Superman suit, shows up at the Batcave to chat with Alfred.
You can see the scene at 38 minutes in to the video below:
Snyder confirmed that the suit was actually shot in the full blue/red version, but that the costume was designed in such a way that would allow him to convert it to a black suit version in post-production.
I hate it. Not only is it not “the” black suit, it’s just a gray washed version of the normal suit. Like ok, you’re trying to do something, but what’s the purpose? When Dan Jurgons designed the black suit, it was a solar recovery suit. There was an idea and thought process behind it. It didn’t look like the normal suit. It was something totally different. This? This is a horrible collar correction. It’s just the normal suit grey washed. What is the narrative logic behind putting it on? Is there a reason? There was a reason in the comics.… Read more »
I highly suggest you watch controversial YouTuber and host of Beyond the Trailer fame Grace Randolph to see as to why exactly Superman’s regeneration suit seen here isn’t jet black, especially as she goes in deep with the explanation, as well as what Zack Snyder told and showed her come the Snyder Cut itself leading up to her interview with him. There’s a valid reason as to why Superman’s cape for example is charcoal in colour which if you watch her video, will make complete sense to you.
I did and there’s nothing in that that I found relevant. Maybe you saw what you wanted to see and somehow found some meaning in it, but to me it’s just rambling and nodding.
If you had a point, you would have made the point. But you didn’t have a point, you said “watch this rambling and try and extract from it a meaning I did.”
Well I watched it and I didn’t. Sorry.
That’s some mighty projection there, mate. The video Anthony refers to explains that Warner didn’t want Superman in the black suit, which is why the clip they showed hasn’t been color-corrected yet. She either speculates or was told by Zack when they did the interview last week that Warner wouldn’t budge losing the cape, considering they wanted as few deviations from the red and blue suit as possible. Which is, remarkably, not unlike your angle here. Also, you asked what the narrative reason behind it is, as if this is information we should be privy to, when the movie hasn’t… Read more »
They have already released the footage, it was on the origional Blu Ray, he passes the black suit (as a nod) then puts on the blut suit. The behind the scenes picutes shows it’s all the blue suit. You don’t need to movie to come out to know it’s just color corrections. Sndyer even said that, he’s going into post to make it black. He said he made the suit so it would have to be color corrected to dark blue or black. Which is why it looked so bad in the thetrical verson. There is no narrative reason, Snyder… Read more »
Didn’t know you’ve seen so much of his UNRELEASED CUT !! Same move, less cheese as well??? Don’t even need any more info from Zack as you’ve summed it all up. Total crock. Thanks for “breaking” it to us as well!
Well, this will undoubtedly be a different version of Justice League. Although I’d prefer Superman in his blue suit, overall I’m glad that Zack can put out his vision of the film. It’s important for filmmakers (and other artists) to be able to put out their work as originally intended. Some will like it, others won’t.
Yasss! This is hella dope af!! It unfortunately lays to rest rumours that Zack Snyder was going to elaborate on his official “Man of Steel” digital prelude comic book‘s Introduction of Kara Zor-El A.K.A. Supergirl as well, especially as his DC Films’ continuity Supergirl sports the very same silver coloured House of El/S-shield seen here. Snyder last year (at least I think it was last year) even said on his official Vero social media account that the 3D holographic image Bruce Wayne looks at of possibly Supergirl (who people like myself assumed it was her, especially as the legs seemed… Read more »
I’m confused. Isn’t there a deleted scene that’s the exact same footage but it has Superman in his blue and red suit? Did Zack just change the color filter for it to be black and white? I’m pretty sure I saw it on YouTube.
Ok, never mind what I just said. I just looked back on the description. I guess I was stating the obvious. Lol
Hmmmm….so was the deleted scene included in the blueray had an original black costume and was coloured into blue red instead!? Or was the deleted scene included in the blueray had an original blue and red costume and was coloured black instead!?
Man that sounded a bit philosophical. 😀
Only time will tell I suppose.
Everything was filmed in blue and red. The behind the scenes shots were blue and red. Sndyer said hilmself that he designed the costume so it would be easier to color correct to black if given the chance.
That’s why it looked so bad in the theterical version, it was designed to be color corrected to dark blue or black.
I like it – a lot. I was really sceptical about the “Snyder cut”, simply because I thought the theatrical version of ‘JL’ was so disappointing, but I’m slowly getting excited to see this. Fingers crossed …
2021 can’t be soon enough. You and I both.
