September 13, 2011: Chicago Governor Visits "Man of Steel" Set

Governor Quinn Pat Quinn, the Governor of Illinois, visited the set of "Man of Steel" in Chicago today to promote the state's film industry and meet the cast and crew, including Henry Cavill.

    "I'm happy to announce that this past year we set a record for filmmaking in Illinois: $161 million," Quinn said. "That's the highest we've ever grossed in revenue."

    One of the draws, Quinn says, is the tax credit the state gives to filmmakers.

    "Man of Steel" producer Charles Roven said the tax credit isn't the only reason he's here.

    "There are places that have bigger tax credits than Illinois." he said. "But when you take a look at the combination of how inviting it is to be here..."
