Glenn Weisberger, Senior Executive of the Ilya Salkind Company, today provided the Superman Homepage with a Press Release regarding Ilya Salkind's visit to Mexico and released some of the details of the accident that resulted in his hospitalization on Monday:
Mr. Salkind has an estate in Mexico that he visits from time to time in a charming little village near Mexico City. It's a quaint quiet location where he can go to think. He had some business to conduct there so he went down to complete the business and take a little vacation. The most important part of the business was to get away from the frenetic hustle and bustle of Hollywood so that he could work on his next blockbuster film, THE ABOMINABLE SNOWMAN. This big budget project is in the financing phase and we plan to be in production later this year.
He was taking a stroll and had an accident. He was taken to a hospital and unfortunately he didn't have his cell phone with him and communication lapsed. Mr. Salkind's condition is stable and we hope to have more information from his doctors shortly. He is expected to return to his home in Los Angeles soon.
The Superman Homepage would like to thank the Ilya Salkind Company for keeping all of us informed about Mr. Salkind's condition.
