July 21, 2011: Lois Lane's New Boyfriend Revealed

Superman #1 Preview Superman #1 Preview NYDailyNews.com reveals the identity of Lois Lane's new boyfriend as seen in the up-coming relaunch of the "Superman" comic book in September.

The Man of Steel has been pining for the intrepid reporter for the Daily Planet since he first leaped into American pop culture in a single bound in his 1939 comic debut. When the pair finally tied the knot in the 1990s, they became comic books' equivalent of Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor - or at least Popeye and Olive Oil.

That all changes in Superman #1, hitting stores in late September, part of DC Comics rebooting of its entire stable of comic books. Lane's new paramour, a Lothario who can't seem to keep his shirt on, is a never-seen-before co-worker at the Daily Planet, Jonathan Carroll, the Daily News has learned.

"Superman is one of the World's Greatest Super Heroes, but he can't have it all," says Jim Lee, Co-Publisher of DC Entertainment. "Many of us know what it's like to be the odd man out and we think readers will have a soft spot for Clark when they see his reaction to Lois' new boyfriend."
