Superman/Batman #37

June 14, 2007: Dustin Nguyen on Illustrating “Superman/Batman”

The Pulse has published an interview with artist Dustin Nguyen, asking him about his up-coming six issue run on "Superman/Batman" with writer Alan Burnett starting with issue #37. Here's an excerpt from the interview...

Q: A lot of people are excited to see what Alan Burnett, the writer who worked on the Superman/Batman Adventures animated series and Batman Beyond, to name a few, will do with the characters for these six issues. How big of a draw was his involvement in this tale? What did you think of his work with those animated properties?

NGUYEN: He's a HUGE draw for me to this book, I mean... seriously. Those animated properties defined what most people today know as the whole Superman/Batman/Worlds Finest relationship. He knows how they tick, how they communicate, and what makes them get along ... or not. And not just the main cast, the villains, side characters, they're all there! He knows them so well its nuts. This entire run has been nothing short but a dream gig to draw.

And what do I think about those animated properties? That's the kind of stuff that makes guys like me want to draw guys like Superman and Batman.

Q: I know you don't want to spoil anything, but what will you tell us of this story?

NGUYEN: Hmm.. I won't spoil anything, but besides what Alan has already said, I'd like to add- BATMAN IN LOVE. And not with the cat lady either.
