Zack Snyder has shared a previously unseen photo of Henry Cavill wearing a black Superman costume from the “Justice League” movie to his Vero social media account.
When the movie was first announced there was much speculation as to whether or not Superman would wear a black “recovery” costume upon his return, as his comic book counterpart did after the “Death of Superman” story.
So that’s what that looks like. Looks awesome.
Other than a costume test or this being a photoshop, there is no logical point where he could have worn this in the film. The BTS footage with Snyder shows the blue suit, the footage Snyder shot on the Bluray shows the blue suit, so other than Snyder having an axe to grind and trolling, wtf else could the purpose of releasing this be then implying it’s in his cut of the movie? It’s not really THE black costume, just the standard suit in all black like Spider-Man 3.
I think the color pattern for the S symbol looks a bit different from the other black suit from the nightmare scene from MoS. Does anyone else think so?
It is different, this isn’t the one from MoS. There’s an article on this site with the costume designer. From March 23 2018. What’s with the tiny zombie composite Superman image that’s to the upper left corner of Zack’s name?
Zack had an event where he answered audience questions after showing Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead and Batman v Superman. That was the promotional image for it.
I think what Snyder’s point was in this photo that he would edit the colors to black for his version, not that there actually was a black one.
That the “Snyder Cut” is no longer what would have been released if he stayed on the project, but his own special edit of what he shot.
It only took 25 years to get the Dinner Cut of Superman II, so I guess hope springs eternal.

Normally I wouldn’t post a response like this, I’d just think it or save it for Twitter. But if he’s going to troll people like this… he’s earned it, imo.
I just watched the justice league Christmas episode where Superman is back in Smallville with MM and I just couldn’t help but think that THAT was my Superman.
Of course I’ll watch this if it’s ever released, but I would really just prefer to love forward and have a new writer/director’s take on the character. I would love to have Henry explore the role further and as I confirmed once again after watching Brandon in crisis, it’s never been the actor, it’s the material they’re given. I felt Brandon was so charismatic in the role on the show, yet singer made him play the character so subdued. I really wish Zack had been given free reign to follow through on his own plans after ‘Man of Steel’. I love that movie, and I will never stop wishing it had a sequel worthy of the name. Also, a build-up to a final confrontation between the Justice League and Darkseid would have been epic, but I sort of understand why WB balked at the idea. If they had done that, the movie would probably have come out after ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, and although comic book fans know that Darkseid was created first, casual observers would have thought WB was… Read more »

We also got a glimpse of it in the deleted scenes that came with the home release of Justice League. This is the first time we see Cavill IN this suit (different from the black one in MOS) and Zack comments in his VERO post that we would have seen it in action as well.
