February 20, 2024: "Superman: Legacy" to Film in Cleveland and Cincinnati

The highly anticipated "Superman: Legacy" is set to land in Ohio, with filming locations said to be taking place in both Cleveland and Cincinnati. The news comes courtesy of the Ohio Department of Development, which awarded the film, disguised under the production codename "Genesis," tax incentives through the state's film program.

While Warner Bros. remains tight-lipped about the specifics, fans are already speculating on how these two Ohio cities will used in the film. Could Cleveland's soaring skyline become the next Metropolis, just like it stood in for Manhattan in "The Avengers" and Washington D.C. in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"?

This upcoming Ohio shoot adds another layer of significance to "Superman: Legacy." The Man of Steel, after all, wasn't born on Krypton, but rather in the imagination of two young Clevelanders, Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Now, decades later, Superman returns to his "birthplace," albeit not his fictional one, as his latest cinematic adventure unfolds against the backdrop of the city that nurtured his creators.

While the exact filming locations remain a mystery, residents of Cleveland and Cincinnati are encourage to keep their eyes peeled, you might just see the Man of Steel himself touch down in your neighborhood.

The cast of "Superman: Legacy" features David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.

Directed by James Gunn, "Superman: Legacy" is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.
