January 23, 2024: David Corenswet had a "Hard Time Fitting" in Previous Superman Costume for Screen Test
In a discussion about screen testing on his Threads social media account, director James Gunn revealed that David Corenswet did screen test for "Superman: Legacy" wearing a previous Superman costume... but he had a little trouble fitting into it.When asked if David Corenswet did a wardrobe test during his auditioning process, James Gunn responded saying, "Yes everyone who screen tested was screen tested in the previous suit (although David had a hard time fitting as he's so tall!)"
It's unknown if the "previous suit" was one of Henry Cavill's or a Christopher Reeve costume, but we do know that David has been hitting the gym to get in shape for the role.
The cast of "Superman: Legacy" features David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and MarÃa Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.
Directed by James Gunn, "Superman: Legacy" is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.
