Wizard World 2008

June 12, 2008: Warren Ellis Guest of Honor at Wizard World Chicago

The prolific English author Warren Ellis will be the Wizard World Chicago 2008 Guest of Honor. This is the only trip Ellis will make to the United States in 2008. Ellis will participate in daily signings and greet fans all four days of Wizard World Chicago June 26-29 and participate in a very special night-time event. On Friday, June 27 at 9:30 p.m. in the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Ellis will host a late-night question and answer panel complete with a cash bar.

Ellis's work on Superman is well-regarded though only a very small part of a long career. Ellis wrote the "Dark Heart" episode of "Justice League Unlimited", the events of which greatly influenced the following season's now-infamous "Cadmus" story arc. This episode first aired on Cartoon Network in 2004.

In 2005, Ellis wrote another Justice League story that featured Superman. This one was for "Justice League Classified" issues 10 through 15 in a storyline titled "New Maps of Hell".

Ellis is appearing at the convention courtesy of Avatar Press. As previously announced, painter Alex Ross, current "Action Comics" writer Geoff Johns, and "Superman/Batman" artist Shane Davis, will also be guests at Wizard World Chicago 2008. Go to Wizard's website for more information or to purchase tickets.
