Is anyone else just a tad excited by the visual of this announcement? Still so many unknowns of course. So I’m not getting too worked up. But, I’m liking the connection to the comics.

I liked Snyder’s idea of a more serious comic book film, but now that the Snyderverse is no more, I’m (cautiously) optimistic to see how Legacy will play out.

I feel a bit more cautious as “things” now a day seem to be driven towards movies being quota driven in story. If there’s one area I wish they’d move on from, it would be the Lois relationship. I think that angle has been run into the ground..
As far as Snyder, I was a big fan and could have taken his series being wrapped up had we had gotten a dedicated MoS sequel. There were a lot of lose ends in his JL cut that will never be finalized as well. Most unfortunate.

SteelMan, I love what you said. I agree with you 100%. Similar to you, I myself also enjoyed Zack Snyder’s presentation of a more serious comic book film and a more realistic take on Superman. But also like you said, the Snyderverse is no more (which I’m fine with even though I liked it). I’m looking forward to seeing what James Gunn will showcase with Superman and the characters in his world.

Rewatching the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy and I am fully confident James Gunn can apply his experience to write and direct a spectacular Superman movie. Of course, Superman is not StarLord and vice versa. Nevertheless, I expect a well balanced movie with both serious moments and levity as the situation may call for. I hear James is drawing inspiration for the movie from both Superman for All Seasons and All Star Superman. If so, Gunn is certainly showing his understanding of the character and hopefully we as Superman fans will be richly rewarded come July 2025.
