“Superman: Legacy” Script is 99.9% Done Says James Gunn

Superman: Legacy Script

In a discussion with fans on his Threads social media account, director James Gunn has revealed that the script for “Superman: Legacy” is nearly finished.

When asked how close he was to having the script completed, Gunn responded by saying, “99.9%. I’m always changing small things but it’s been essentially done since well before the strike.”

The “strike” referred to is the recent writers strike which, along with an actors strike, saw Hollywood grind to a halt for a large portion of 2023.

The cast of “Superman: Legacy” features David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer.

Directed by James Gunn, “Superman: Legacy” is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.

If there’s one thing to come out of this “new” Superman, hopefully it’ll be the dumbing down of the Lois relationship. Done to death.
