September 14, 2015: More Rumors About Superman Sequel Movie

With rumors and speculation swirling in recent months on a possible stand-alone "Superman" movie, we have yet another rumor to add to the mix.

To get you up to speed... So far we've heard that George Miller ("Mad Max: Fury Road") was rumored to be in line to direct a solo Superman film (a "Man of Steel 2" if you will). Then we heard that any such movie was on "permanent hold". Then Zack Snyder claimed he'd had no knowledge of the George Miller rumor, but would definitely be open to the idea.

Today, HeroicHollywood.com claims that George Miller is still in the mix, that the film probably won't see the light of day until 2019 or 2020 at the earliest, and that Brainiac is the most likely villain of the movie.

I call this one more speculation than rumor. There's no script in place, so who the villain might be is anyone's guess really. With Zack Snyder telling News.com.au that he'd be happy to talk to George Miller about the idea of doing a Superman movie, it's not a stretch to claim he's a possibility of doing a Superman movie if he wants it.

As for Brainiac... He's an obvious fan-favorite, and a villain we haven't seen portrayed in a Superman movie yet. Doing another alien invasion type scenario (after Zod) might be difficult to pull off.
