Promoting her upcoming Max series “The Girls on the Bus,” Melissa Benoist has commented on the casting of Milly Alcock as Supergirl for the upcoming “Superman” movie and the “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” film to follow.
Having starred as Kara on The CW “Supergirl” TV series, Benoist told Screen Rant, “I think any and all takes on the character are valuable because of what she stands for. Supergirl as an entity is iconic for a reason and has been since the ’50s”.
“I personally think that every iteration of her is valuable for young women to see, and hopefully every take on her, someone will see themselves in it.”
While Milly Alcock is reportedly appearing in the upcoming “Superman” film, which started filming on February 29, no start date or release date for the Supergirl movie has been announced yet.
I’m interested to see Milly Alcock’s iteration of Supergirl. I’m looking forward to it.
