"Who better than Superman, to help us get the message out there", stated Gower. The Chamber will hand out Summer time treats of bottled s water and chapstick featuring their Think Local First logo during the parade.

Superman will also participate in the kickstarter.com video for the Massac Theatre while in Metropolis this weekend. The Save The Massac committee gained ownership of the 1938 Art Deco movie theatre in May of this year, and they are currently raising funds for the renovation. The filming is on Saturday and Sunday and the general public is invited to participate on Sunday at 2:00 in front of the Massac Theatre. The kickstarter project will be the stage area which will be made available to the local schools for their drama and music performances. The theatre will once again show movies and be an asset to the community of Metropolis.
