Tyler Hoechlin on Passing the Torch to the Next Superman

On Saturday, June 10 “Superman & Lois” star Tyler Hoechlin participated in a Q&A panel during the 2023 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois.

When asked about the upcoming film “Superman: Legacy,” Hoechlin was very supportive of whoever gets cast in the role of Superman saying, “I am very confident that whoever comes in… It’s so funny, people jump so quickly to say ‘That’s not it, that’s not it!’ when they get somebody, but I would just encourage everybody to give them a chance because I’m sure they will be awesome. I think anyone who does this has a huge love for it and a real care for the character, even me, who didn’t really grow up with the character – you know what Superman means to people, and I think it’s just something that you don’t mess with unless you really have a care for it. I’m excited to see whoever the next person is.”

As for passing the torch on to the next person to take on the mantle, Tyler said, “It’s fun to be a part of something that’s bigger than you, like a small part of this huge legacy. Seeing how much it means to the people around you.”
