What irks me the most about this show is it’s shameless ransacking of Superman stories, while reducing him to just a stepping stone for the main character. These are stories I want to see in Live action with Superman, not his cousin.

You took the words outta my mouth. I will never watch Supergirl or support that show.

What I can’t figure out is why they’re having Kara fight the Elite before Lex Luthor appears. I would have figured him to be the real mastermind behind the Children of Liberty. He somehow escapes from prison and offers his assistance to Ben Lockwood, the Children of Liberty, and the Elite to take Supergirl down for good (if he can’t go after Superman because he and Lois are in Argo City awaiting the birth of their child, then Kara’s the next sure thing).

That’s probably the primary reason I stopped watching the show. Especially with the supposed “girl power” angle, I find the whole thing disgustingly hypocritical. This version of Supergirl is a hollow knock-off of the potential of female super-heroes and that’s not someone I can respect.

It’s what happens when a show goes political, the wonky writing becomes MORE AND MORE obvious. This show is lucky to get season 5. If it continues down this anti-Trump/USA–pro globalist NWO road…it will be its last.

I think Berlanti gets more credit than he deserves with these shows. He lacks subtlety in all of them and he relies too much on formula. The first two seasons of most his shows were really good, but then they started going downhill from there because he’s not very creative, in my opinion. He just uses the same gimmicks over and over and it gets repetitive and boring.
