
Jon Cryer participated in a social distancing edition of People TV’s “Couch Surfing”, where he looked back through some of his most interesting acting roles throughout his career, including his time playing Lenny Luthor in “Superman IV: The Quest for Peace”.
At the end of the episode Cryer comes to his role as Lex Luthor for the “Supergirl” TV series, discusses how he shoe-horned his way into the “Crisis on Infinite Earths” crossover, and where things are at with Season 5 considering production was shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He reveals that some of the Season 5 finale was shot, but not all of it, and so the writers have had to find a different way to finish off the season, “Which is interesting because the way my character was thwarted now doesn’t happen anymore. So I was like, ‘Oh, did I not get defeated? Wait a minute, I like this!'”
The next new episode of “Supergirl” will air on The CW on Sunday, May 3. The Season 5 finale is scheduled for Sunday, May 17, which would indicate that the season has been cut down from 22 episodes to only 19 episodes.
At least it’s somthing for a season finale. 19 episodes may not be what I wanted for a season, but I’ll take what I can get. And from what Jon said, at least we’re getting something for a season finale. And just like the 19 episodes, I’ll take what I can get for the finale. What’s more important to me, is the health and safety of the cast and crew of Supergirl.
