Interview with “Superman” Movie Stunt Double Justin Howell

Justin Howell, stunt performer who is acting as David Corenswet’s stunt double on the upcoming “Superman” movie, has participated in an interview with Be More Super on YouTube, revealing interesting details about the film.

Among the information Howell was able to share was the revelation that the film looks to wrap filming “end of July”. Having started on February 29, that would be a total of 5 months worth of production.

As for David Corenswet as an actor and a person, Howell says he’s “so down to earth and just a sweet guy,” adding that he “embodies the character so well” and he’s eager for fans to see for themselves when the film is released in 2025.

Although he’s unable to divulge any details about the Superman costume, Howell did say that it “is the most mobile of any of the other suits I’ve worn”. Having worked as a stunt double for Chris Hemsworth in “Thor in Love and Thunder” and as Master Chief in “Halo,” Howell says that being Superman’s stunt double is the “mountain top” of his career to date, and that it “feels like a very, very cool experience”.

As for the movie as a whole, Howell says that it “feels like the start of a new era. The things James [Gunn is] doing with it are very interesting.”

Previously known as “Superman: Legacy”, the cast of the film, now simply titled “Superman”, features David Corenswet as Superman/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner/Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, and Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent.

Directed by James Gunn, “Superman” is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.
