With the cast of “Superman: Legacy” having gathered together for the first time in Atlanta, Georgia yesterday to participate in a table read of the script, director James Gunn shared a photo on Instagram of the entire cast together.
“After the table read with the #Superman cast. Eve, Mr. Terrific, Superman/Clark, Otis, Lex, producer Peter Safran, Jimmy, Metamorpho, Lois, Hawkgirl, me, Guy, The Engineer all together for the first time! What a wonderful day.”
Cast members accompanying co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran in the photo are David Corenswet (Superman/Clark Kent), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Terence Rosemore (Otis), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Sara Sampaio (Eve Teschmacher), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner/Green Lantern), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), and María Gabriela de Faría (The Engineer.)
Directed by James Gunn, “Superman: Legacy” is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.
It is great to see a Superman film being made with absolutely NO star power at all! Look at Marlon Brando and Gene Hackman in “Superman The Movie” – iconic film legonds. Even with “Man of Steel” you had Amy Adams, Kevin Costner and Russell Crowe – more film greats. This new Superman film has a bunch of nobodies. What is going on? Looking at this cast, I fear that there is no wow factor to make this a blockbuster. The casting of this film just may doom another Superman film for another 20 years!!!
I can’t more disagree with this more. The power is in the character. Not the actors with established IP. Tom Cruise maybe the last movie star that gets people in the theaters.
Great cast! And finally a red headed Jimmy Olsen!
