February 17, 2004: Justice League Trading Cards in Post Cereals
A super-powered promotion launches in April when seven of the world's most popular crime-fighting Super Heroes from the Justice League -- Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl -- fly onto millions of Post® Kids' cereal boxes. Limited edition, collectible trading cards featuring DC Comics' Justice League Super Heroes will be power-packed inside boxes of specially marked Post Kids' cereal brands through the end of May 2004. Each of the seven different cards will feature "Postoken Codes," which unlock a virtual "comic adventure" at Postopia.com, enabling kids to create their very own Justice League Adventures comic book story."We are delighted to bring these extremely popular and empowering Super Heroes to Post Kids' Cereals," said Dave Hedrick, Vice President of Promotional Marketing and Branded Foods, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "This promotion offers kids of all ages the chance to have new and creative fun with the amazing team of Justice League Super Heroes."
"The Justice League Super Heroes really pack a punch, and are truly an exciting complement to our Post Kids' Cereals line-up," said Thano Chaltas, senior category business director, Post Cereals. "Our new trading cards will take a fun leap beyond the box, allowing kids to use their imagination to create their own Justice League adventures on our Postopia.com website."
Out Of This World Fun
The limited edition trading cards will be found inside Post Kids' Cereal boxes including Cocoa Pebbles®, Fruity Pebbles®, Honeycomb®, Strawberry Blasted Honeycomb®, Oreo O's®, Golden Crisp®, Waffle Crisp® and Alpha-Bits®. There are seven different cards to collect, each featuring one of the Justice League Super Heroes. With a special Postoken code found on each card, kids can access characters, villains, action scenes and story plots created by DC Comics at Postopia.com that can be combined together to create an exciting adventure with flash animation and word balloons. Each Postoken code opens a set number of elements - the more Postokens you enter, the more choices you have from characters, plots and scenes. Once completed, these Justice League adventures can be e-mailed to friends and posted at the online gallery. The website will feature even more online fun activities.
Power-Packed Promotion
The Justice League Post Kids' Cereal promotion will be supported by exclusive targeted exposure including four to six weeks of television advertising on Cartoon Network. Over 15 million collectible trading cards will be available for free inside cereal packages in the United States and US territories including Puerto Rico. Additionally, Post Kids' Cereal boxes will feature promotional information on the front, back and side panels. Finally, the Justice League mini-site featuring the "create your own comic book adventure" will further drive awareness among fans.
