
The rumor mill is running hot with speculation that Henry Cavill might make a surprise appearance in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to announce a new Superman movie.
Deadline.com dropped the hint in an article reporting on Warner Bros. presentations at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, with “Black Adam” and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” the two films the studio will be showcasing.
Last we heard, Ta-Nehisi Coates was writing a script for a J.J. Abrams produced Superman movie that was supposed to be all about a black Kal-El/Clark Kent, while Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters were writing a script for Michael B. Jordan’s “Val Zod” project for HBO Max. Whether both of these Superman-related projects are now on the scrap heap in favor of a return by Henry Cavill remains to be seen.
The Superman Homepage does have a reporter attending San Diego Comic-Con, so stay tuned for any updates on this front.
If it does happen then I got to ask this, actually I’ll ask anyway, where’s the love for Routh’s Superman? Tyler has his Superman series which I’m a huge fan of, and now heavy rumors of Cavill’s return to the role of Superman. But what about Routh’s Superman? How are his fans like me supposed to feel about not hearing a thing about his Superman when the other two actors have either a show running or will be getting a movie going soon?
