The rumor mill is running hot with speculation that Henry Cavill might make a surprise appearance in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend to announce a new Superman movie.
Deadline.com dropped the hint in an article reporting on Warner Bros. presentations at San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, with “Black Adam” and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” the two films the studio will be showcasing.
Last we heard, Ta-Nehisi Coates was writing a script for a J.J. Abrams produced Superman movie that was supposed to be all about a black Kal-El/Clark Kent, while Darnell Metayer & Josh Peters were writing a script for Michael B. Jordan’s “Val Zod” project for HBO Max. Whether both of these Superman-related projects are now on the scrap heap in favor of a return by Henry Cavill remains to be seen.
The Superman Homepage does have a reporter attending San Diego Comic-Con, so stay tuned for any updates on this front.
