As of our latest count, there are approximately 600 songs that mention “Superman” or “Clark Kent”, either within the title of the song, or within the song’s lyrics.
A few years ago the Superman Homepage put together the following Infographic noting the Top 10 songs that specifically mention the name “Superman” in the song’s title.
The list was collated using Billboard‘s Hot 100 database, and took into account the song’s peak position on the music charts, as well as the length of time it remained in the charts.
At the time we created an infographic (below), today we’ve put together the list as a Top 10 video.
I am about to make SUCH a playlist on my iPod!
my favorite is the Five For Fighting Superman song. Its interesting that its about Superman, however Superman is not mentioned by name in any of the Lyrics. Here is an interesting question. The other songs mention superman’s name, but are any of them actually about him? I mean the name Superman is used for the purpose of romance in some of these songs. So is it about Superman or is it a romantic nick name.
“Kryptonite” by 3 Doors Down is always the first Superman song I think of. It doesn’t mention Supes in the title, but it did hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

I like the song Kryptinite by three doors down as well, only it kind of sounds like the lyrics are about Supeeman lecturing to an person who is ungrateful that he saved them. Still a great song though. As for Five for fighting Superman, I know that there is a tribute to Christopher Reeve with the five for fighting superman song on YouTube somewhere. Maybe more than one I think. It really goes well with the song.
