“Superman” Movie Cast Celebrates “Action Comics” Anniversary

Superman Movie Cast

Director James Gunn and actors David Corenswet (Superman) and Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane) are celebrating today’s anniversary of the release of “Action Comics #1” by reading Superman comic books.

James Gunn wrote, “On this day in 1938 the first superhero entered our atmosphere via the imaginations of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. He gave us someone to believe in, not because of his great physical power, but because of his character and determination to do right no matter what. Happy #Superman Day to all of you! #UpUpandAway”.

The comic books the trio are reading are “All-Star Superman #1” (held by Rachel), “Action Comics #114” (held by David), and “Superman #1” (held by James).

While many are celebrating today (April 18) as “Superman Day”, according to DC Comics, “Superman Day” is celebrated annually on June 12. This day of celebration was created in 2013, two days before the release of the movie “Man of Steel”.
