Its not new, the Superman image. He’s not facing forward like the others, he’s not his side. Its from the first promo back in 2016.
If they wanted to use a Superman image and have it match the rest of the team, why not use the shot of him walking from BvS in the Senate Building? That would’ve worked.
If they’re not doing new images of Superman, it makes me wonder what/how Superman will be in the film itself.
I got a bad feeling about that.
Well Superman IS in the movie, and his role is big according to Snyder. I wonder about the design of the black suit, will he have a beard, long hair, etc. I guess that’s the surprise they are holding out on us, for now…
Wow that was cheap!
Ugh.
The promotional images for this film have been absolute garbage. I really don’t get why they’ve even bothered to put out anything other then that first image that was released at SDCC last year. They’ve all been the same image over, and over again ever since. Five to six people standing in a line, looking at the camera. That’s it. Oh wait, sorry. I should mention the last poster they released had five people standing in a line with their profiles towards camera. Really changed things up there! Seriously, these images have been about as boring, and unimaginative as it… Read more »
Wow…that…that is some lame, amateuristic lazy recycled garbage. I couldv’e done better in High School (1998) on a 20 year old Mac running Adobe Photoshop 3. WB….hire me instead, Im a good Graphic Artist/Designer…
So, apparently the Justice League embalmed Superman after his death and decorate the Watchtower with him.
This is dreadful.
I agree that using a recycled image leaves one a little… Unimpressed, but I can see the thinking behind it. they are wanting to keep Superman’s return under wraps as much as possible. everyone knows that he will return, so I’m guessing they don’t want to draw more attention to it.
maybe they should have left him out all together!
Sure, but they could literally manip Superman’s walk into the Capitol from BvS, if only to give this shot a sense of consistency. They didn’t even go that far. My only hope is that this wasn’t made by WB themselves, but by Rubies– whatever that is.
OK here’s the thing, this image is not intended for us as fans. It’s aimed at the average “Joe Public” who hasn’t looked at every single image that WB has released for this film. We as fans have conditioned ourselves to see every detail there is, but to the casual eye it will be more like “Hey there’s Superman! Didn’t he die in the last movie? I’m going to have to watch this one to see how he comes back” To get to the topic of recycling the image, it’s most likely that they only really took a few shots of… Read more »
Which is all well and good, the problem is still the quality of the picture though. It’s not whether or not it’s for fans, it’s that it looks cheap, rushed and like bad marketing. It doesn’t catch the eye, it’s inconsistent, it feels like a fan manip that someone threw out in a forum. That’s the problem with it; it doesn’t do its job all that well.
To you and I, YES you are absolutely right, but like I said to the “casual eye of Joe Public” it doesn’t matter all too much! Trust me, I know this, I have done a lot of work like this as a graphic designer for a marketing firm! I agree with you man, I’m just explaining what the marketing folk do. Marketers are so lazy when it comes to art, as the client is “I need it yesterday”… So everything needs to be done as soon as possible. And an image like this is “acceptable”… Gone are the days that… Read more »
I am a Graphic Artist too, and alot of my non art friends even say it looks like crap. The public is not as jaded or ignorant as the people responsible might think. Normally I would agree with what you say about the Corporate world but WB went from great design to crap in a very short time…so someone will be held accountable & be replaced. WB did great with The man of Steel poster (the one where he is flying towards the viewer) Even the teasers of each justice league member were better.
As I stated before, I agree that it is lazy. All I did was point out what marketing firms do, to have a quick turnover, and charge a lot of money.
I thought that even MoS promo art could have been better. I’m not a fan of the screen cap posters from movie stills. It seems to be what WB likes these days though.
My thoughts exactly. Well said.
Common B movies, overdone dry comedies, cheesy horror films, chick flicks, & kids animated movies ALL have more professional quality posters. “Not intended for “us fans” is not a reason for grade school level laziness…even bootleg copies of movies have better quality cover art….
I’d love if Diana was the leader of the Justice League more than Batman being the leader
