Actor Julian Sands, who played the role of Jor-El on the TV series “Smallville,” has officially been confirmed dead after going missing in the Angeles National Forest back in January.
According to NBCnews.com, remains found last week have now been confirmed to belong to Sands, who went hiking alone in the Mt. Baldy wilderness, northeast of Los Angeles.
Eight different ground and air searches conducted since he was reported missing failed to find Sands, however hikers stumbled upon his remains and reported them to the Fontana Sheriff’s Station this past Saturday.
Sands played the role of Jor-El in 2 episodes of “Smallville” during the final two seasons of the series.
He leaves behind his wife and three adult children.
