San Diego Comic-Con 2021 Dates Announced

Regardless of the continued threat of the COVID-19 pandemic, Comic Con International has announced that the 3-day San Diego Comic-Con will take place in 2021.

Scheduled to take place across Thanksgiving weekend at the San Diego Convention Center, SDCC 2021 will begin on Friday, November 26 and conclude on Sunday, November 28.

The 2020 convention was cancelled due to the pandemic, and the usual summer dates for the convention were considered too early for 2021, so the 2021 “Comic-Con Special Edition” has been planned as a smaller gathering with the event pushed back until later in the year.

“While we have been able to pivot from in-person gatherings to limited online events, the loss of revenue has had an acute impact on the organization as it has with many small businesses, necessitating reduced work schedules and reduction in pay for employees, among other issues,” said David Glanzer, spokesperson for the nonprofit organization. “Hopefully this event will shore up our financial reserves and mark a slow return to larger in-person gatherings in 2022.”

We will let you know when details regarding badge cost, attendance capacity, and related information are released.
