I wouldn’t turn it down. If DC can keep putting out different Joker movies, why not put out different Superman or Batman movies. Put one out every year. Put out a Pattinson Batman movie every other year with an Affleck one in between. Put out a Cavill Superman movie every other year with J.J. Abrams’ Superman in between.
The 90s Animated Series is something of a pseudo period piece; there’s modern technology, but they embrace a deco/streamline moderne aesthetic. And imo it still holds up. I don’t think it would fail if done in live action.
@afriend, I completely agree with you. The 90s animated classic series is more of a period piece. I would absolutely love if it a new Superman movie took from “Superman: The Animated Series.” Alternatively, I would also love a full-length movie along the lines of the Fleischer animated series. If they could make a movie like that, I’d definitely pay to see it.
I would really love a series of Superman movies starring Brandon Routh.
Please WB-Discovery, bring back Routh’s Superman.
As a pseudo period piece?!
If it has Brandon as Superman, I’m happy. 🙂
