Austrian and German fans will be thrilled to discover that the 1984 “Supergirl” film has been released in a special Blu-ray edition by Plaion Pictures, who are responsible for Sony and Warner DVD/Blu-ray and 4K releases in both countries.
For the first time the film is being released on Blu-ray in German and it includes the 125 minute International Cut, the 139 minute Director‘s Cut and the 91 minute Cinematic version. All seem to be in HD.
She is insurmountably strong, can fly, has the heat vision and an unshakeable sense of justice – that’s in the family. Kara is Superman’s cousin and like him, she survived the disaster on her home planet Krypton. Now she is on earth and has to compete as a supergirl against a nasty sorceress. (2 Blu-rays)
The creators of the legendary SUPERMAN films with Christopher Reeve brought the girl of steel to the big screen with this humourous, special effects adventure. Helen Slater takes on Faye Dunaway and is supported by Peter O’Toole, and Mia Farrow.
