July 6, 2016: Historic Bar from “Man of Steel” Destroyed by Fire

CassidyPubThe historic Cassidy Inn, which was the location for the scene in “Man of Steel” where Clark Kent is working as an employee when a patron spills a beer over his head, has been destroyed when the entire building went up in flames on July 4.

The Cassidy, located just south of Nanaimo, BC, Canada was originally a coal miner’s hotel, and, in later years, a biker bar, and, lastly, a movie set.

For sure sad news. The Cassidy had been standing since 1914. Now it lives on in the memories of many, and in the bar scene from MoS.

Wow..that’s pretty amazing…there is a bar/inn in the town my dad grew up in in Barnsboro Nj…called the Barnsboro Inn…been around since the 1700’s and still going strong. It’s an amazing place to eat…food is good but just walking in you just sense history. Google Barnsboro Inn History…great read…if you are into that kind of thing. I tried to do a link but it didn’t work..
