A Superman-themed Water Splash Park is set to open in Metropolis, Illinois.
Metropolis, already home to a giant 15-foot Superman statue, the Super Museum and the location of the annual Superman Celebration, will now play host to a Superman-themed Splash Park adjacent to the Public Swimming Pool at 312 West Fourth Street.
According to the Super Museum blog, parks and recreation director, Pris Abell, claims the splash park will open in time for the summer swim season.
The splash park will be Superman themed including Kryptonite water sprayers, a Daily Planet globe water bucket drop, a Kryptonite water slide, an interactive city skyline water sprayer with sounds, and a Superman “Welcome to Metropolis” sign welcoming visitors to the park.
The splash park is scheduled to be assembled next week.
