November 17, 2001: History of the DC Universe in Trade Paperback

Newsarama reports that DC Comics is publishing a trade paperback version of the History of the DC Universe.

In 1986, DC Comics followed up their mega-event "Crisis On Infinite Earths" with a two-issue mini-series that attempted to restructure and re-order the now retroactively altered history of the DC Universe. Crisis' main creators, Marv Wolfman and George Perez (joined by inker Karl Kesel) were given the task of unifying the decades-long accumulation of historical facts from once multiple Earths universe into a cohesive whole for a new history of the single-universe DCU.

The History Of The DC Universe is a 104-page trade paperback edition, featuring an all-new painted wraparound cover by Alex Ross. Narrated by Harbinger (a central figure from Crisis), according to DC, "The History Of The DC Universe brings readers back through time and space to the dawn of creation, and continues to the end of recorded history - as Harbinger reveals 'the history of heroism.' Featuring an appearance by virtually every character in the DC Universe at that time (circa 1986), this unusual project (featuring a combination of beautiful art with prose) laid the foundation for all to come from the new DCU."

The new trade paperback ships in February 2002 and will retail for US$9.95.
