Superman and Jimmy Olsen Win Ringo Awards

The Ringo Awards, formally known as the Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards, is an annual celebration of the creativity, skill and fun of comics, named in honor of Mike Wieringo (June 24, 1963 – August 12, 2007), an American comics artist best known for his work on DC’s The Flash, Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four, and his co-creation Tellos.

More than 20 categories were celebrated, with top honors being given at an awards ceremony that took place as part of the virtual Baltimore Comic-Con event on Saturday, October 24.

Congratulations to “Superman’s Pal, Jimmy Olsen”, which won the 2020 Ringo Awards Best Humor Comic, while “Superman Smashes the Klan” took home the 2020 Ringo Awards Mike Wieringo Spirit Award!

best known for his work on DC’s The Flash, Marvel Comics’ Fantastic Four, and his co-creation Tellos.

He also worked on The Adventures of Superman in the early aughts. And while he may indeed be more well known for his work on The Flash or Fantastic Four, I’m very surprised that Supermanhomepage, of all websites, didn’t mention his artistic turn on a Supertitle.
