“Supergirl” to Introduce Lex Luthor in Season 4

The CW has announced that Lex Luthor will make an appearance in the current season of “Supergirl”.

Executive Producers Robert Rovner and Jessica Queller said, “We’re beyond excited to introduce iconic villain, Lex Luthor, to Supergirl and to weave him into our story this season. We’ve talked about having Lex on the show since its inception and we’re excited to have him finally arrive. We can’t wait for him to shake things up in National City and watch him go toe to toe with not only Supergirl, but his sister Lena Luthor.”

Lex Luthor will not be appearing in the “Elseworlds” crossover event which will introduce Lois Lane for the first time on The CW.

Currently in prison, Lex has been mentioned many times on “Supergirl”, and his eventual appearance will no doubt cause plenty of trouble for both Supergirl and his adopted sister Lena.

The role will be a recurring one, with casting to begin soon.

Meanwhile back in Metropolis… Still no Superman movie or show. Might as well go ahead and take all Superman’s characters in addition to all his story arcs.

Lex Luthor in Supergirl season 4?
“Bring it on!” -A little nod to Superman Returns. I’m so looking forward to this. Yes!

Well, with the rumour circulating today of a potential Superman series spun off from the CW Elseworlds crossover, it would be strange to add Lex Luthor to Supergirl………..oh wait, it’s just a rumour and….Supergirl tv has to take every Superman villain, friend, allies, comic book references, and make them exist in a world of hers that fights for all the real world struggles that people want to escape from when sitting down to watch a fantasy show. And the producers must think she doesn’t have any origin story or characters of her own to come up against. I’m done with… Read more »

Berlanti has made a practice of ripping off other characters for all his shows. He gets way more credit than he deserves and I cringe every time he’s brought up to direct a big screen adaptation.

I agree , I really enjoyed the 1st episode of Titans and its tone was totally different then the CW shows, then as the credits rolled Berlanti’s name popped up as a producer, I have to say I did cringe up on seeing his name but I’m so glad he is not the showrunner……for now at least.

CW, since Lex will be a recurring character, could you please increase the number of episodes that Superman will appear on as well. And please, please have Superman and Lex go toe to toe in an epic battle with Lex in his iconic Green battle exo armor.

Feels like the minute they started saying NO MORE SUPERMAN MOVIES, Lois, Lex and everyone started being announced for SUPERGIRL. I’m hoping they’re building to a SUPERMAN show proper.

Well, that Metropolis series which was supposed to be on DC Universe and center around Lois and Lex before Superman appeared is still in development…

Lana2k5, I totally forgot that show existed (will exist?) lol. To be fair tho, that show is a GOTHAM, SMALLVILLE-esque prequel, which Warners has always been cool with, because it doesn’t step on the toes of the films. Seems like they’re getting a little looser with their Mainstream, Prime-timeline era version of the Superman characters. And it seems to be lining up with their lack of plans for Superman movies going forward.

To borrow from pro-wrestling terminology maybe they’re letting Superman characters get the rub from Supergirl before giving them a big push.

Regardless of whether or not they’re trying to quietly try out the idea of a Superman show in the DCTV, I still chuckle every time this show makes “big announcements”. In twenty years, the only legacy “Supergirl” will have left behind will be its complete failure to properly differentiate Kara from her far more famous cousin.

I’m trying something new today. I’m giving a thumbs up to every comment I see. Even to opinions or views that don’t agree with mine. Because it’s Friday, and everyone should feel good on Friday.
Happy Friday everyone!
