Entertainment Weekly has posted an exclusive clip from the Season 2 premiere of “Supergirl”, showing Tyler Hoechlin in action as both Clark Kent and Superman alongside Melissa Benoist as Supergirl.

“The two of them actually show up to the same crisis,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. “It’s not a turf war, they just both heard about the same tragedy on the news and both flew into action.”
In doing so, the supers finally get a chance to spend some QT together. “They haven’t really gotten a chance to spend time together, especially since she’s come out as Supergirl, and they both want that,” Kreisberg says. “Both of them have a bit of sadness about them – they both have that sense of feeling alone, they both have that sense of feeling different – and both of them remark that that loneliness, that alienation, that isolation goes away when they are together.”
Season 2 of “Supergirl” premieres on Monday, October 10 at 8:00pm on The CW.

This is the kind of thing I always wanted to see with Christopher Reeve and Helen Slater. My inner 5 year old and my adult self are both grinning right now. Go Super-cousins!

Let’s just wait and see. Hope never dies. I mean…why in all that is holy would the CW NOT PICK IT UP as a regular series!? If the ratings go over the roof (and they probably will) then I’m pretty certain that a new Superman series will be commissioned.
