The CW has released a new one minute trailer promoting the series premiere of “Superman & Lois”.
The 90-minute Pilot will air on Tuesday, February 23 from 8:00pm/7:00pmC, with a documentary special titled “Superman & Lois: Legacy of Hope” starting at 9:30pm/8:30pmC.
In SUPERMAN & LOIS, after years of facing megalomaniacal supervillains, monsters wreaking havoc on Metropolis, and alien invaders intent on wiping out the human race, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent (Tyler Hoechlin, “Teen Wolf”) and comic books’ most famous journalist, Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch, “Grimm”), come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever – dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
Complicating the already daunting job of raising two boys, Clark and Lois must also concern themselves with whether or not their sons Jonathan (Jordan Elsass, “Little Fires Everywhere”) and Jordan (Alexander Garfin, “The Peanuts Movie”) could inherit their father’s Kryptonian superpowers as they grow older.
Returning to Smallville to handle some Kent family business, Clark and Lois are reacquainted with Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui, “Entourage”), a local loan officer who also happens to be Clark’s first love, and her Fire Chief husband Kyle Cushing (Erik Valdez, “Graceland”). The adults aren’t the only ones rediscovering old friendships in Smallville as the Kent sons are reacquainted with Lana and Kyle’s rebellious daughter, Sarah (Inde Navarrette, “Wander Darkly”).
Of course, there’s never a dull moment in the life of a superhero, especially with Lois’ father, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh, “Nip/Tuck”) looking for Superman to vanquish a villain or save the day at a moment’s notice. Meanwhile, Superman and Lois’ return to idyllic Smallville is set to be upended when a mysterious stranger (Wolé Parks, “All American”) enters their lives.
Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERMAN & LOIS is written and executive produced by Todd Helbing (“The Flash”) and executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Geoff Johns. The series is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
This looks like it is going to be awesome! So glad to see another Superman show on TV, since WB can’t seem to get a film going!
WOW! 😀
I am exited! I like how they did him in the supergirl universe. I just hope the shows goal is to bring us superman and not bring us a social justice infomercial. We can get that anywhere. Be unique and just give us superman, no strings attached! Problem, fly in, save the day, clark and lois invstigate why it happned and superman comes back in and gets the badguy responsible. That’s all I want! LOL
“fly in, save the day, clark and lois invstigate why it happned and superman comes back in and gets the badguy responsible. That’s all I want!”
Agreed. That’s all I want from this series as well. As for the politics, since this is a show that’s made by the CW, I have a feeling that we are going to see some politics unfortunately. I’m not a fan of Superman being mixed in with politics myself, however if they treat him with the respect that he deserves and is due for, then I’ll be a very happy Superman fan. 🙂
I was honestly impressed with that trailer. I haven’t been enamored with the premise, but this got my attention.
I’ve heard a rumor that the cinematographer for this series is the same one from the Witcher series or from HBOmax. Is this true? Is there any confirmation on this rumor? Because if it is, then it explains why the series looks so good. And I love the music for this trailer! 🙂
I Gotta say that the guy in the armor kinda looks like Master chief from the Halo series. Very cool. 🙂
Could he be the villain Conduit? That would be an excellent pick for season one’s big bad villain.
I’ve been saying for years to use conduit in a movie, Spidey! I was a big fan of the death of Clark Kent storyline back in the 90s. I think he would’ve made a great foil to Superman in a movie, but I’ll take what I can get if he’s in this haha
Even if he was not in a movie as a villain, the death of Clark Kent storyline could be easily be adapted into a whole season for the series.
Something about that character that I always found fascinating. His grudge against Clark goes back into their childhood. He starts off hating Clark but then it grows into hating him as Superman as well. Targeting everyone Superman loves and cares about. I’m just surprised that no one has thought of using this villain for any movie or show. I mean his Kenny Braverman persona has been used in an episode of Superman the animated series as a kid bully, but not his super villain identity. I hope that the character does show up in a movie or show at some… Read more »
Conduit is Superman’s Hush. Although I wonder if he was somehow an inspiration for Tommy Elliot.
That’s a good comparison Kal-Ed.
I totally agree with you sundevil82. The Death of Clark Kent story was definitely a well written story that should be explored for movies or tv. I think that Conduit is one of the most menacing villains of Superman’s rogues gallery. Almost as notorious as Lex Luthor in my opinion. And he’s hasn’t shown up since the 90’s because he died fighting Superman. Maybe it’s time that they resurrect the character. It could make for a fantastic story. One of Superman’s most dangerous enemies back from the dead. Maybe make it into an October event? Give it a spooky Halloween… Read more »
Naw man. I’ll tell you who he looks like. A lesser known villain. Barrage.
Can Barrage fly? My knowledge of the character is mostly of the 1980’s. He has a powersuit that has a cannon for his missing limb. But that’s pretty much it for what I know about him. Have they updated his character?
Nope he can’t fly. Although his character hasn’t appeared in a while
Sorry, am I the only one who’s bothered by the fact that Clark has a stubble? Shave your face, Kent.
Hehehee that sounded like Perry White.
There is actually nothing wrong with the stubble in my opinion. At least it’s not a full on beard
I do think Tyler is probably the only actor who can pull off a stubble for Superman. Although it could go either way in my opinion. I do wish that he had a spit curl hair style.
Due to creative reasons a spit curl could take a coupla hours to make so they had to drop it . I miss seeing it sure, but what matters is the character portrayal. Big Blue Boy Scout? Check.
Blue and red and yellow suit? Check. That matters most
True. One of the things I like most about Tyler’s version of Superman is that he brings a classic and basic superhero approach to the character. Flys in, stops the bad guy, and makes sure that everyone is safe all with a positive attitude to reassure those he saves that everything will be alright.
About damn time a new Superman show hit the tv screens. Looks really good can hardly wait.
Well said Kal-Ed. 🙂
Thanks buddy.
You’re welcome Kal-Ed. I do believe that this will be a great Superman series. Probably one of the best tv versions.
Hey Kal-Ed. I know that a couple weeks ago we talked about if the CW had an app. At the ending of this trailer, they had mentioned that the pilot episode for Superman and Lois would be available to watch on the CW app. I wasn’t sure if you knew of this, so I thought that I should let you know.
Nope. Didn’t know. Hey thanks for checking it out buddy. Really appreciate it.
Did this show that his kids don’t know (or didn’t until now) he is Superman? If that’s the case, that to me is ridiculously stupid on many level.
The premise is not that ridiculous. In the Superman: Lois & Clark comic books that came out right after Convergence, Jonathan didn’t know his father was Superman. He didn’t find out until he started exhibiting powers and Lois and Clark had to tell him. Remember I called it here folks lol, When there were rumors of a Superman TV show I said it might involve him having a kid and them introducing Superboy. I’m glad they are going this route, it’s a dynamic we haven’t seen on TV yet and it would impossible to do in the DCEU unless they… Read more »
superman lois and clark – Bing images
Yes, but Jon was still only 8 or 9 or so therefore I’d argue it’s a little more forgivable. In this they’re 15-16 ? So it’s much less forgivable. (to me anyway)
Looks really good.
This looks so good !!! Super can’t wait for Superman & Lois. Super can’t wait for this series and can’t wait to see more of Tyler Hoechlin as Superman / Clark Kent !!!
