Kristin Kreuk Interested in “Smallville” Animated Revival Idea

In a new interview with ComicBook.com Kristin Kreuk says she’d be interested in returning to play Lana Lang in an animated revival of the “Smallville” TV series.

The idea of returning to the “Smallville” concept in an animated series was previously put to both Tom Welling (Clark Kent) and Michael Rosenbaum (Lex Luthor) back in April when they attended a Q&A panel at Awesome Con.

When the same idea was put to Kristin Kreuk she said, “”Yeah, absolutely! I’ve never thought about it, but that sounds like it could be a lot of fun.”

“Michael wouldn’t want to shave his head again, I’m fairly certain,” Kreuk said with a laugh. “But yeah, that would be a lot of fun. I haven’t seen those guys in a long time.”

Kristin Kreuk is currently filming the second season of her CBC legal drama “Burden of Truth”, which will make its U.S. premiere on The CW on Wednesday, July 25 at 8:00pm ET/PT.

I love this idea! WB, please make this happen!

I’d love to see those characters again, but I just can’t take any more “no tights, no flights”! After the lackluster finale, I maintain they owe me a minimum of two hours of Tom Welling in an actual cape, flying around doing super things.

But will poor Allison Mack be asked back?

I’m open to the idea. I’d rather they pick up right after where they have left off after season 10. I think though, Allison Mack will be replaced by another actress after the whole fiasco she is going through. And we’ll finally see an animated Tom Welling in costume. Like he wasn’t animated already anyway at the season 10 finale.

Maybe Alison Mack can record her dialogue over the phone from prison…

During the 1970s, William Shatner was touring with a play while the animated Star Trek was in production, so he would get the scripts and record his lines in theater bathrooms.

They could follow the Season 11 comic, or at least get some ideas from it, it’s a pretty good read.

That’s a great idea JasEl. I especially liked the story of when Superman met Batman. And the story of when superman went into the future to help his cousin fight doomsday. Their version of the cyborg Superman was interesting as well. Hopefully they will decide to make a Smallville animated series in the near future.

No. Its been way too long, besides CWTV has already forgotten Smallville, there’s no way they’d put money into this.

Also I can’t stand how poorly the final season went down, or that abysmal Season 11 comic. Best let things end.

After watching it for 10 years on TV, I for one will have no desire to watch an animated version of super Clark Kent. Seen more than enough of that.

If it was based even loosely on the Season 11 comic it would be an opportunity to give an actual payoff for that version of Clark Kent that the finale failed to do and allow Welling to work around his absolute aversion to wearing the costume. I think that would be better than doing an animated series set during the high school or “blur” years.

The Allison Mack thing though is a huge problem to say the least.

The whole Allison Mack thing can be resolved in a very simple way. If you remember season 8, The Legion clearly states that on the future that are no records about Chloe Sullivan or of her being alive then. This was problably done then as groundwork & security measure in case they really were going to kill off Chloe or Allison decided not to return. So They can simply kill her off & still be in tune with what they layed down then.

Will it be an animated adaptation of the season 11 comic? I’d watch that.
