James Gunn “Blown Away” by In-Person Auditions for “Superman: Legacy”

Actors

As we reported earlier this month, in-person auditions for “Superman: Legacy” did indeed take place this past weekend, with James Gunn and co-CEO of DC Studios, Peter Safran meeting with actors hoping to win the roles of Clark Kent/Superman and Lois Lane.

Gunn posted on the Bluesky social media platform saying, “Amazing amazing weekend of auditions for Superman: Legacy. I’m blown away by some of these actors, among the best I’ve ever seen or worked with.”

While he wouldn’t expand on which actors were involved in the auditions, sources claim Nicholas Hoult, David Corenswet and Tom Brittney were amongst those who Gunn met with, while Emma Mackey, Rachel Brosnahan and Phoebe Dynevor were said to have tested for Lois Lane.

“Superman: Legacy” is scheduled to be released July 11, 2025.
