Hershey and DC Comics Sending Superhero Chocolates to COVID-19 Heroes

Hershey's Bar

The first batches of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Bars featuring DC Comics superheroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman will be going to today’s real-life heroes – those on the front lines of the pandemic response. Then the candy bars will be made available to the general public in July.

The sweet nod of thanks to frontline workers is one element of wider charitable efforts by Hershey, which has donated millions in cash and products to a range of community safety and healthcare organizations. The company also has committed $1 million to acquire, install and staff a new manufacturing line dedicated to face mask production. The line, which will be capable of producing up to 45,000 masks per day, will become operational by the end of May.

“Supporting our communities in difficult times is part of our legacy, and an important value that our current employees share,” said Michele Buck, President and CEO of Hershey in a statement. “From the building projects that created local jobs during the Great Depression, to producing military rations during World War II, we take great pride in making a difference where we can.”

Is there a place I can “buy” some of these bars for a local medical facility?

I’ve never seen a Speedways store in my area, I’m not sure we have them in the Seattle area.
