I have a feeling that what we’ll get is just a piece of it, and it’ll be shot/played in such a way as the audience (or at least the League) doesn’t know what side he’s on, but then it changes to the newer themes or whatever as he zooms into action. That’s my guess. The trouble is that Elfman is doing the classic “tease something unexpected because it raises stakes” when talking about “darkness” and the DCEU or Superman and “not sure which side” in the same sentence is the very last thing you’d want to do. I’ve got to agree with you Scotty on both fronts. The music and the darkness angle. I liked the movie score in SR but there was a fine line between the Williams theme and how it was used in SR. I remember sitting in the theater when SR started and the beginning on the theme took off. I felt some what put off in that instant because the theme was so closely related to Chris R. I completely understand why various incarnations in media have their own theme but at the same time I have no trouble at all with the idea of using the Williams theme the way the Bond theme is used. I say this because I think Williams managed to go one step beyond and why it’s IMO his best work. He created more than a theme for a movie that time. He created an expression of the character in musical form. Almost as if he’d been struck with a vision of a flying man and wrote a symphony about it. I find… Read more »
