The CW has given us our first look at Odette Annable in the Reign costume for “Supergirl”.
Episode 9 of Season 3 of “Supergirl” will be titled “Reign”, and will see the single mother Samantha Arias take full form as the Kryptonian Worldkiller.
Earlier this month Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg explained, “When we meet Reign, she’s just a woman. Her name is Samantha and she’s a single mom, and she has no idea that she is Reign; she has no idea that she was the baby in the pod at the end of last season, so the journey that she takes this season is watching her realize her heritage and see how it manifests.”
With what appears to be a skull within a pentagon on her chest, Reign is dressed in an all black Kryptonian costume and face mask.
Really? They just made her look like Terri Hatcher’s Ultra Woman goers to a metal bar.
Actually it’s not necessarily a bad super villainess costume but doesn’t Reign usually have a more monsterous design? Strikes me a little like putting a mask and a cape on somebody and calling them Doomsday.
The suit she is wearing does remind me of Terry Hatcher’s costume as well. Although I wish that they wouldn’t use a diamond skull symbol with the black suit. It makes me think of Snyder’s Zod. The less Snyder influence for this series the better in my opinion. I did notice the her mask looks to have what I could describe as horns. Overall it looks cool.
