Emmett J. Scanlan Cast as Lobo for Season 2 of “Krypton”

Irish actor Emmett J. Scanlan has been cast to play Lobo for Season 2 of “Krypton”.

From the peaceful planet of Czarnia, Lobo was born a devil in the midst of utopia. Loosely translated from his native language, his name means “he who devours your entrails and thoroughly enjoys it.” As a teenager, he single-handedly slaughtered his entire civilization, becoming the last of his race. Now, this mercenary roams the universe on his motorcycle, getting paid for what he loves most – murder and mayhem.”

According to DCComics.com, the TV show’s take on Lobo will be a ruthless bounty hunter who murdered his entire species, and who possesses a genius level intellect when it comes to matters of warfare, making him a deadly adversary. Imbued with superhuman strength and virtually immortal, Lobo will keep coming until the job is finished. His word is the only thing Lobo holds sacred; and although he’ll never violate the letter of an agreement, he might disregard its spirit from time to time!

Well known to Irish and British TV viewers, Scanlan’s career has seen him win roles in shows like “Safe”, “The Fall” and long-running British soap “Hollyoaks”. Movie fans may recognize him from “Guardians of the Galaxy”, while DC fans who caught the cancelled “Constantine” on NBC, might recognize him as Detective Jim Corrigan.

“Krypton” Season 2 will premiere on SYFY in early 2019.

Or he beefs up a bit. For such a role it certainly requires a body mass of WWE level. Always thought that Kevin Nash would have been perfect for the role.

Actually, Jason Momoa’s take on Aqaman reminded me of my own impression of Lobo. It wouldn’t take much to go from Fishman to Czarnian. Just a little less California hip and little more fright. And one thing Lobo has in common with Aquaman – they both love dolphins.

Oh yeah, and they would save a LOT of money on makeup.

I was thinking the same thing Steve Eden. Jason Momoa would make an excellent Lobo.
