Eddie Jones, Pa Kent from “Lois & Clark”, Has Passed Away

Actor Eddie Jones, best known to Superman fans as Jonathan Kent on the TV series “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman,” has passed away, aged 82.

Interact Theatre Company released the following statement via their Facebook page:

Our treasured longtime member, dear friend and trusted colleague, Eddie Jones, passed away today.

Eddie was a true pillar of our company from its earliest days. An actor of keen wit and sharp instinct, when Eddie was on stage, you couldn’t take your eyes off him. When he was off-stage, his broad, bright smile would light up the room. Everyone who knew Eddie as a friend, or had the good fortune to share the stage with him, was touched by his gentle and generous nature. He will be deeply missed by all. ITC extends its deepest condolences to his dear, devoted wife Anita Khanzadian Jones, and extended family.

May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest, Eddie.

Dean Cain, who played the role of Clark Kent/Superman, took to Twitter to post his own reaction upon learning the sad news…

“My heart breaks with this loss,” Cain wrote. “God Bless you, Eddie. You were a wonderful human, and terrific father. RIP my friend.”

So sad to hear this. May his sweet soul rest in peace. Lois and Clark gave us in my opinion the best Jonathan Kent to ever grace the screen. Gone…but will never be forgotten.

I think Lois and Clark is a bit underrated in general, but both K. Callan and Eddie Jones I think are definitely too often overlooked for their portrayals of Ma and Pa Kent. Really great job by both. May Mr. Jones rest in peace.

This is a sad day for us Superman fans. Eddie Jones was a great Pa Kent. He will be sadly missed. Rest In Peace Eddie Jones. Rest In Peace Pa Kent.

As a Superman fan I saw him on Lois & Clark. I remember him in Crossing Jordan and other series/movies. Each time I saw him were special moments.
My condolences to his family. He’ll be deeply missed

Lois & Clark made me a Superman fan when I was young and I hold a lot of the cast very dear to my heart. Much like Lane Smith as Perry, Jones and Callan were the definitive Kents for this type of Superman and they held a lot more of the show together than one might have thought at first glance. Eddie will be missed.
