Day 2 of the Superman Celebration kicked things up a gear with the Special Guests arriving in town.
The Superman Homepage “Meet & Greet” was a huge success! We had a great time, with a hundred or so people showing up. There were prizes, games, puzzles and laughs aplenty. I’ll be posting the full video soon. I want to once again thank everyone who showed up, young and old, guys and girls, and people from all over the world. It was a blast!
With Jeff East’s trip from France delayed due to plane problems, the morning Q&A saw Ilya Salkind, Aaron Smolinski and Jack O’Halloran talk for an hour, answering fan questions and talking about the Christopher Reeve Superman movies.
The three stars then spent time signing autographs and taking photos with fans, with John Haymes Newton also arriving at doing the same thing at a different location. I had a chat with Aaron, Jack and John (all who have been guests on our Radio KAL live podcast in recent years). All three were generous with their time, and really happy to chat with fans for as long as they want.
The day flew by, with so many great conversations taking place up and down Market Street. The Superman Celebration really is the friendliest conversation/festival you’ll ever attend.
The Friday night dance, was lively if short-lived, and while the official schedule concluded around 10pm, the unofficial celebrations kick on well into the night (and early morning), especially at the Baymont Inn.
Saturday is the busiest day of all 4 days, with Brandon Routh, Shaun Sipos and Blake Ritson all scheduled to appear. It should be a lot of fun.
I wish I was there. Hopefully one day I’ll get a chance to go to Metropolis, Illinois to the Superman celebrations. It looks like fun.
Hey Steve, first time in Metropolis and everyone is super nice. My wife, son and I are having a blast here. My son has been taking pictures with just about everyone and they have been nothing but nice to him and myself when we ask them for a photo. This is one of the best events I have been to. If I run into you I would like to buy you a drink as a thank you for keeping the website going.

@JasEl. My theory, Logan was trying to escape from Fox and got lost on his way to the MCU. But he was charmed by the friendly folks so he decided to hang out.
Maybe he thought that man of steel meant man with adamantium bones? Lol kidding aside, it’s cool that he’s there to celebrate Superman even though he’s not dressed as Superman. He’s probably just a fan of superheroes in general and just wanted to celebrate the world’s greatest Superhero Superman.
