The idea of print being dead was always a miscalculation because it grossly under estimated that there is a tactile aspect to reading that many humans appreciate and continue to want to experience so when someone talks about wanting to hold a book in their hand don’t look down your nose at them like they’re hugging a telegraph machine. Also this is not something that is divided along the lines of age either. It’s not as simple as “kids=digital old folks=print.”The bookstore chain I worked for tried to go with an all-in on digital readers business model and they were… Read more »

I absolutely love and cherish the Superman physical media that I own, especially my DVDs, posters, and comic books. However, I’ve been living overseas for 6 + years now. I can no longer collect physical media any longer because it’s too big and expensive to haul around. For this reason, I currently only keep about 5 special Superman trade paperbacks with me overseas. As for the films and TV shows, they are all digital releases.

I basically voted on what I *would* buy, were it available in my region. In reality, I even have to import the occasional Bluray/DVD. Books and comics are a financial no-no in physical for me.

As for the digital vs physical… it’s a silly debate we’ve had a million times in gaming. Each has its value and its audience. Digital books don’t feel right to me, especially comics. Film, on the other hand, is more convenient for me on digital– especially since some production companies often cripple their physical releases by removing a lot of extras to cut costs.
