Best known for his role as Data on “Star Trek: The Next Generation”, actor Brent Spiner will join the cast of “Supergirl” for Season 4 playing the role of Vice President of the United States.
As a recurring character, Spiner’s Vice President Baker is described as being “adept and politically minded”. Vice President Baker “makes for an unlikely leader, but steps up in a big way when his country needs him most.”
With President Olivia Marsdin, played by Lynda Carter, set to return in Season 4, there’s no doubt the new season will continue to address political issues in the face of National City’s growing “human-first” movement.
Season 4 of “Supergirl” will premiere on The CW on Sunday, October 14 at 8.00pm.
This data does compute! A favorite from Star Trek The Next Generation, Brent’s casting on SuperGirl is another feather in the show’s cap.
I wonder if he will have any screen time with Brianiac 5. Sort of a nod to Star Trek fans since Brainy is similar to Data.
That would be a good idea. I’m sure the writers are working on it.
And…there is a connection (somewhat) with Supergirl and Star Trek: The Next Generation. The latter’s classic theme song was co-composed by Jerry Goldsmith, who also did the Supergirl 1984 movie theme. I say co-composed because it also contained elements of the Star Trek original theme by Alexander Courage.
