Good video Steve and some good points made in the video. I’m not reading the Superman books again because of this storyline I’m not reading the books at least for right now because I haven’t liked what Bendis has done with the character of Superman and removing things we loved from the Rebirth run like Jon Kent and ageing him up which was a bad change in Bendis run. Don’t hate this change coming I just wished it was handled better. Again good points made in the video
Thank you Steve! So refreshing to hear. Could not agree with your points more. Been feeling like leaving the various fan communities I belong to lately due to the extreme negative vibe (not just in Superman or DC or comics, but in sport fandom and elsewhere too) but this renews my faith that not everyone is angry and shout-y on the internet! 🙂
I respect that Steve is more in the “wait and see” column and he’s basically right that we’ve been through this kind of thing before. But for me that’s part of the problem. Not only have we been though it before but we’ve been through it VERY recently. i understand that “this too shall pass”, but I’m not going to live forever. I’d like some Superman stories that aren’t DOA, before the next life. 😉
This time I’m not on your side, Steve. It’s not just that something in Superman’s status quo changes. It’s that for one and half years this has been a constant in Bendis’ stories. We’ve had the worst writing in Superman comics ever. Man, now even going back to New52 era would be an improvement for me (and you don’t know hom much I hated it). The problem is that Bendis can’t write Superman in any way. And that lack of ideas just ends in “lets change this…or that…or everything” which is lame writing. Just because he isn’t able to write… Read more »
