Steve Younis gives his opinion on whether Supergirl’s secret identity is actually a secret on the “Supergirl” TV series in a new Superman Homepage “The S Files” video.

Spidey, I know the scene you are talking about and I think you have to give some leeway on that one if only because while realistically they would be speaking in more hushed tones we the audience wouldn’t be able to clearly hear what they are saying. Also a lot of times people are going about their day and a conversation between people that they are passing by is just background noise to them unless they had some motivation to try to be listening in on it. People in the fiction don’t know Superman and Supergirl have secret identities so… Read more »
Even though that scene does bother me, I do see the logic in what you’re saying MattComics. Maybe everyone else is just to busy and in a hurry to pay attention to what Kara and Clark are saying. So I’ll let it slide.
Steve Younis, I do believe Tyler will return in the role of Superman, however I can’t deny the possibility that he won’t be on the show for a very long time. Possibly years from now. And since Cavill will be working on other projects in the meantime, then there will be no Superman movies as well.If that’s the case, then there is a possibility that we as superman fans will have no superman related material in the movies or live-action television for years to come. Which means we are stuck without a Superman movie or show. Am I wrong in… Read more »
When J’onn replaced Hank Henshaw at the DEO he had a bit of a mess to clean up. Henshaw knew who and what Kara was. It was how he coerced Jeremiah into coming to work for the DEO. When J’onn took over the DEO there would have been a number of agents there who knew that Kara was Kryptonian. At the very least the agents who originally accompanied Hank Henshaw to the Danvers home. I have to believe that over time he either sidelined those agents or made them loyal to his ideology. I could be wrong but I think… Read more »
I guess it’s just one of those things where we’re going to have to wait and see if they will explain it. If they don’t explain it, then it could be a continuity error. Or maybe some poor writing? I don’t know. I do know that this does need some explanation.
Spoiler Alert for anyone who hasn’t seen last night’s episode. Major Spoiler, so for those who haven’t seen last night’s episode and doesn’t want to be spoiled, please look away from my comment, I will be talking about it.

Ok, now that I have stated that this is a spoiler, here is what I have to say. Apparently there are a group of DEO agents that know that Kara and Supergirl are one and the same person. Kara and Alex trusts these agents with this knowledge. This explains the whole mystery on why is Supergirl dressed as Kara and is talking openly about being Supergirl at the DEO question.
Hey Spidey, I’d agree that what was shown in this episode goes some of the way to addressing Steve’s concerns but there are still a couple of problems. I think more DEO agents than we were shown in this episode would have known Supergirl’s true identity. The fact that they were all unknown characters and basically extras isn’t a huge isssue because most of the DEO agents we’ve seen over the years have been unnamed extras. Showing Vasquez as part of that group would have helped a lot though. It is possible there are others who know who don’t work… Read more »
True. You do bring up a good point andramus. I didn’t think of that. Plus there is also the possibility that some DEO agents perished in last season’s finale in the fight against the world killers. And maybe some left the department the same time the Martian manhunter left as well? They at least did gave us a somewhat of an explanation.

I was wondering if anyone else noticed this, but in season 2 episode 1 Clark and Kara are talking about their alter egos in public on the sidewalk shortly after their first meeting with Lena Luthor. People are actually walking by them as they’re talking about being Superman and Supergirl while they are dressed as Clark and Kara. That scene kinda bothers me.https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8g54C6sTJTY
The scene I’m talking about is near the end of the video in this link.
